What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is paying attention- paying attention on purpose, without judgement and kindly.
We spend a large part of our waking moments on auto pilot, often missing conversations, smiles from loved ones or the colours and smells of the change of seasons.
Mindfulness helps us to live and fully experience each moment, and very importantly helps us to catch the moments when we are mindless.

Mindfulness is a somatic practice. If you decide to run a marathon you need to train, don’t you? Well mindfulness is the same, we´re preparing to live our lives managing our responses to stress, responding instead of reacting.
Jon Kabat-Zinn has described these practices as “opening a parachute” we wouldn’t start to practice when we find ourselves in difficulty and we need to “jump out of the plane” we need to practice every day, so that mindfulness can offer us the support we need, in the moment we need it.
